Rally-O

$236.25*

*Special introductory price! (regular $262.50)

Rally-O, short for Rally Obedience, is an excellent sport for enhancing the connection between dogs and their handlers, improving control, and boosting confidence in both the dog and the owner. This sport is an exciting way to build on the foundational skills taught in our Good Dogs Have More Fun class and adds an element of variety and fun to your dog training. Here are some key points about Rally-O:

  1. Heel Walking with a Twist: Rally-O builds on the concept of heel walking by introducing a course with signs placed every 10 feet. These signs serve as cues for various behaviors the dog should perform. This adds an engaging and dynamic aspect to heel walking compared to continuous, monotonous walking.
  2. Sign-Based Courses: The course is designed with a grid, and each sign represents a specific behaviour or command. Handlers and dogs need to navigate through the course following the signs in sequence, performing the corresponding actions.
  3. Variety of Behaviours: Rally-O exposes dogs to a range of behaviours, such as precision recalls (like Call Front and Finishes), straight and variable heeling paths, side steps, sits, downs, stands, turns, inside U-turns, and pivots. These behaviours help dogs develop obedience and responsiveness.
  4. Teamwork and Practice: Teams (the handler and their dog) have opportunities to work together on individual behaviours as well as navigate through a mini-course with multiple signs. This format encourages teamwork and allows handlers and dogs to practice different skills.
  5. Handler Distraction: Rally-O incorporates distractions for the dog, helping them learn to follow commands even in the presence of various stimuli. This is especially valuable for real-life situations where dogs encounter distractions.

Rally-O is a fantastic way to engage with your dog, enhance obedience skills, and build a strong bond. It's an enjoyable sport for both you and your dog, and it can be a stepping stone to more advanced obedience training and competition if you choose to pursue it further.
